Typhoon Hagibis Updates
13th Oct 2019
TYPHOON 19 UPDATE: 1800 JST - Monday, 14 October
It is nearly 36 hours since the typhoon passed through Japan and the extent of the damage, mainly due to flooding, is apparent. However, almost all our current tours are running as scheduled and we anticipate no significant disruption to forthcoming tours. In a limited number of instances, the suspension of rail services has meant that we are using alternative transport arrangements with minimal impact on the tour.
If you are joining us on tour between today, Monday, 14 October, and Wednesday, 16 October and have not already heard from us directly please contact us for further updates and individual travel advice. For participants scheduled to join us on tours starting after these dates, Walk Japan will provide updated information by the evening of Wednesday, 16 October, Japan Standard Time.

TYPHOON 19 UPDATE: 1200 JST - Sunday, 13 October
Yesterday (Saturday, 12 October), Typhoon Hagibis/Typhoon 19 tracked through eastern Japan, bringing high winds and heavy rainfall, particularly to the Chubu and Kanto regions. Throughout we have been in regular contact with all our tours and confirm that all our customers are safe. We expect most, if not all, our tours to be back on schedule during the course of today (Sunday, 13 October), and, where necessary, are assisting our customers with their travel plans prior to or after their tour.
